After reaching Berastagi, tourists can proceed to nearby villages at the base of Mount Sinabung for closer views of the volcano. However, due to the unpredictable volcanic activity, access to Mount Sinabung is often restricted by authorities for safety reasons. It is crucial to check the latest volcanic conditions and access permissions before planning a visit or attempting to hike the volcano.
Despite its volcanic dangers, Mount Sinabung also boasts breathtaking natural beauty.
